However, through Sr. Mairead's work in Jobstown Community College it became apparent that the local area had a serious issue with early school leaving. With this in the forefront of our minds Youth Horizons adapted, and in 1999 Sr Mairead developed a Leaving Certificate programme at Youth Horizons. In the last ten years, the programme has grown remarkably with only three students in its first year to over twenty-five in year ten. Also, the programme has expanded to offer crèche facilities to the students, FETAC certifications, experiential learning trips, counselling, and personal development opportunities.
Today the ethos of Youth Horizons is still the same . To answer the needs of our community whatever they may be. We now have two distinct but intertwined areas of education at Youth Horizons; Education Programme and Health and Wellness Programme
