Youth Horizons offers an opportunity to early school leavers to complete their education to leaving certificate standard. In addition to this we provide support and guidance to help people achieve their true potential. We are a community based charity situated in Jobstown, West Tallaght, Ireland.
Youth Horizons was founded in 1988 to play a role in meeting the needs of the community of Jobstown and the wider area of West Tallaght. The project was spearheaded by Sr. Mairead Hughes, Fr Denis O’Connor and Dr. Kate Ganter with a huge amount of help from people in the local community.
Over the years we have grown and responded to the expressed needs of our community. Our goal has and always will be to enhance the lives of people by working with them to aim for their brightest “Horizons”.
With the help of our many benefactors, and in an effort to meet the ever evolving needs of the local community our work at Youth Horizons has grown into a number of distinct areas
We are all very sad at the untimely and tragic death of one of our directors Caitríona Finlay who died on the 25th of June, in a tragic accident while on holidays in Croatia. Caitríona was very committed to Youth Horizons and supported us loyally and generously for many years. She helped many young people with her unique Maths tuition. She served generously and wisely on the Board of Management and was always available with help and advice for our past students in IT Tallaght where she worked.
She is greatly missed by her mother and all her family, by her large circle of friends and colleagues and by all of us at Youth Horizons.
